4 Best Amenities To Have In Your Deluxe Sleeper Trailer

Posted on

When you dedicate yourself to a career driving on the road, it is important to invest in a nice sleeper cab that will allow you to live comfortably. You shouldn't have to give up on having a comfortable living space because you are a truck driver.

A big sleeper cab can cost you a little more in gas money, but it will allow you to enjoy a better quality of life. A modern sleeper cab can be more like a mini travel trailer than a simple cramped bed.

Amenity #1:Electrical Power Sources

With a deluxe living cab, you don't always want to be running your truck when you are in the sleeper portion of the vehicle. You need a cab that is set-up to be powered by an auxiliary power unit, also known as an APU. An APU generally runs on diesel, which shouldn't be hard for you to access on the road. You will need electricity to run all the amenities in your cab.

You can also install a portable solar power unit on the top of your rig to power your sleeper cabin. Your rig is out in the sun all day, so it should be able to generate a sufficient amount of energy.

Amenity #2: Bathroom Space

If you drive a lot, you need a sleeper cabin with a bathroom. That way, you don't have to use a bathroom at the truck stop. You can easily add a portable toilet with a small tank and use an additive to get rid of odors and break down waste.

That way, if you wake up in the middle of the night and need to use the bathroom, you have a safe and sanitary place to go. You may even be able to add a shower to the space as well. With limited space, many people add an open shower space with a drain in the ground.

Amenity #3: Small Kitchen

Third, if you enjoy eating healthy balanced meals, you need to add a mini kitchen in your sleeper cabin. With a larger sleeper cabin, you can enjoy an RV sized refrigerator and freezer. You can also enjoy two built-in burners. You may not have space for a full oven, but you can add a toaster over to the space. You should have a little counter space, some storage space where you can put a few pots and pans, and a table to pull down where you can eat.

Amenity #4: Enjoyable Sleep Space

Finally, you want to make sure your sleeper tab has a nice sleeping area. You want your cab to have enough space for you to put a full or even queen size bed. Sleeping on a little twin bed can be uncomfortable for lots of adults. With a larger cab, you can have the bed fully out, or you can have a fold-down bed.

If you know you love life on the road, invest in a custom truck trailer with a sleeper cab that is made to make your life as comfortable as possible. Sleeper cabs have come a long way over the years and can be nice if you are willing to invest in a bigger sleeper cab.
